T.O.P Soccer had the opportunity to interview one of its former students, Joseph (Joe) Donaldson. Joe was gracious enough to provide his insight on T.O.P Soccer and fill us in on what is going on in his world.

TS: Joe, thank you for taking the time to speak with us. What age did you begin with T.O.P Soccer and how old are you now?
JD: Thank you! I started at age 10, when my mom enrolled me into a soccer clinic. I am now 15 years old.
TS: What was your experience like in the soccer clinics and what did it teach you?
JD: I enjoyed my experience, it was fun and competitive. Additionally, it taught me that respecting people is more valuable than winning.
TS: You currently volunteer with T.O.P Soccer. Why do you feel it is important to dedicate your time to the organization?
JD: My mom gave me a lot of encouragement to give back to the organization. I believe some of the opportunities I currently have are related to my time at T.O.P Soccer. Therefore, it pushes me to want to give back. Lastly, I possess leadership skills and giving back can help me improve how people view our community.
TS: We understand that you are in a special program now. Can you tell us more about it?
JD: I am in a program with Google called Code Next. I was one of fifty, 9th graders from New York City selected to be in the program. I learn different coding language such as Javascript, HTML and CSS. After completing Code Next, I will receive a special nametag, which makes me eligible for employment with Google in the near future.
TS: If you can tell anyone about T.O.P Soccer what would you say?
JD: It is fun, energizing and helps prepare you for the future.
TS: Joe, on behalf of the T.O.P Socer team, thank you for your time.
JD: You're welcome!
